Automative Training Program Needs Vehicles

The SLCC automotive training program is in need of vehicles on which students can perform maintenance work that fits within the curriculum. We are looking for the following maintenance items:

    • Engine and emission controls: tune-ups, check engine lights
    • Suspension: front-end inspections, shocks, struts, alignments, TPMS problems
    • Basic engine items: timing belts, cooling system diagnosis, water pumps, motor mounts
    • Automatic transmission diagnosis
    • Basic electrical: battery service, charging system testing, starter system testing, lighting and accessories
    • Brakes
    • Manual transmission

All work is performed by SLCC students and requires extra time for repairs and inspections. If you need same day or rush service, this IS NOT the right option for you.

It's best for our students if vehicles are model year 2003 or newer to fit with current training technology. Older vehicles may be accepted on case-by-case basis.

For questions or to schedule an appointment, please contact Paul Felt at 801-957-5346 or paul.felt@slcc.edu.
