Water Bottle Initiative

For 2024, while recycling is important, we are going to be focusing on reducing, reusing, and REFILLING.

Here at SLCC, there are water bottle refilling stations in every building, on every campus. Let’s leave single use plastic water bottles in 2023 and start remembering to bring our own bottles to refill!

Starting March 1, through the end of April, there will be QR codes on the water refilling stations for a competition. To participate, refill your water bottle and then scan the code every time and fill out the brief form. Every time you fill out the form, it will act as a count for how many times you have refilled your water bottle in the two-month challenge.

May 1, the tallies will be counted, and the top two winners will be announced. The first-place winner will receive a sweatshirt blanket. The second-place winner will get an awesome water bottle; both are courtesy from the SLCC campus store! Let’s get into the habit of reusing what we have and work together to do our part, making SLCC a more sustainable place to be.

  1. Hi there! Just so you know, there are no QR codes at the RWD STC 2nd Floor water fountain/refill or at the WVC water fountain/refill.
