Open Education Celebration in March and April


In honor of global Open Education Week and achieving our program milestone of saving SLCC Students an estimated $21 million in textbook costs, the Open SLCC Team has organized a series of events, Open Champion Highlights,
and resources to bring additional awareness of OER at SLCC and beyond. Open Education Week is a collaborative effort hosted in partnership with OE Global. “Its goal is to raise awareness, showcase initiatives, and celebrate the impact of open education on teaching and learning worldwide.” Oeglobal.orgEvents, resources, and highlights for the SLCC community have been scheduled for March and April 2022, and are available for viewing any time here.

Faculty highlights include a special tribute to the efforts of our faculty, schools and departments in supporting OER work at SLCC and beyond. View SLCC Open Champions or visit here.  

The Open SLCC Team has created an external resource centered on Pressbooks, JEDI, and Open Pedagogy. Visit here to learn more. 

The Open SLCC Team hosted student information booths at four separate campus locations in March to raise the visibility of No-Cost / Low-Cost Textbooks available at SLCC.
