While the syllabus is a familiar feature in an academic course, we often overlook strategies to design a syllabus that is inclusive. Whether you are an experienced or new faculty member, participants will have the opportunity to develop or assess a syllabus for a range of components such as tone, policies, statements, and transparency. By creating a clear and welcoming syllabus, we can more readily engage students in our courses. If possible, please bring a syllabus with you.

HEERF Funding for Summer Semester 2022

Students enrolled in for-credit classes at Salt Lake Community College or Salt Lake Technical College for the 2022 Summer Semester will receive one federal COVID relief check of $500 or $750. The amount students will receive depends upon Pell eligibility. Qualifying students who are Pell-eligible will receive one payment of $750, and qualifying students who are not Pell-eligible will receive one payment of $500. Eligibility for the grant is not dependent upon citizenship status.

Unfortunately, concurrent enrollment students and guest students are not eligible.

Qualifying students signed up for direct deposit will automatically receive the funds in their designated bank account. Those who are not signed up for direct deposit will receive a check in the mail at the address on file with the college. The college plans to distribute the money to students during the third week of Summer Semester for students enrolled full term. Students registered for an 8-week course during the second term will receive their funds during that term at a date yet to be determined.

Students who want to take advantage of this grant should make sure to meet registration deadlines for Summer Semester, take for-credit or Salt Lake Tech classes, and ensure their direct deposit or refund preferences are current in MYSLCC.

More information about eligibility and distribution can be found on SLCC’s FAQ page.

Global expansion can help a company grow faster, enjoy the benefits of global scale, and tap into the unique advantages of different locations. Yet, global expansion also creates many challenges—such as exposure to unfamiliar cultures and markets, difficulties in coordinating far-flung operations, and greater organizational complexity. Whether global expansion adds or destroys value depends on your company's ability to build the necessary local capabilities in the different markets and manage the global network effectively. In this course, join Anil Gupta and Haiyan Wang, two of the world's foremost experts on global strategy, as they step through how to maximize the benefits and minimize the costs and risks when leading a company which spans multiple markets. Discover how to connect with the local market, manage across cultures, cultivate employee engagement in foreign subsidiaries, cultivate a global mindset, and more.
