Door Decorating Contest

As part of President Peterson’s Inauguration Celebration, SLCC is excited to announce the “Open Door” Contest! We’re inviting all College departments to showcase their school spirit and creativity by decorating their department’s entry doors with the theme “SLCC Opens Doors” while following SLCC’s Posting Guidelines and Facilities Clings Procedure.

Theme: SLCC Opens Doors

How to Enter: Decorate your department’s entry door and post a photo to Instagram, tagging @SaltLakeCC.

Submission: Submissions must be made by Thursday, September 18, by 7 p.m., either by uploading a photo of the door on the department's Instagram and tagging us # SaltLakeCC, or if the department does not have an Instagram account, please email the submission photo to Verónica Aguilera at vaguiler@slcc.edu with the subject line: Open Door Contest.

Winners: Judging will begin Friday, September 19th and winners will be announce Wednesday October 1 on SLCC Today. 

Price: The winning department will receive catered lunch!

All rules and guidelines must be followed in order to be eligible to win.

Contest Rules & Guidelines

To ensure your entry qualifies, please follow these important rules. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

Safety First:
Decorations must not obstruct walkways, cover glass on doors (within 24" from the floor or above 60"), or block essential signage. All displays must be safe and must not damage SLCC property.

Approved Materials:
Only use painter’s tape to attach decorations. Please do not use any other adhesives that could cause damage.

No Ceiling Decorations or Helium Balloons:
For fire safety, nothing may be hung from the ceiling, and helium balloons are not allowed.

Clean Up:
All decorations must be removed including all tape and tape residue must be removed. If you need assistance with removing residue or if damage occurs, please report it promptly to Fix It.
